Description

KSCOPE REISSUE PORCUPINE TREE S SECOND STUDIO ALBUM UP THE DOWNSTAIR REMASTERED BY STEVEN WILSON ON VINYL the spiritual heirs to Pink Floyd, the Tree offer a magical kaleidoscope of elegant rock pleasure, showcasing understated rhythm, grand synth washes and sweet, punchy electric guitar Record Collector Porcupine Tree, led by visionary musician Steven Wilson, released Up The Downstair in 1993 as an album that took British psychedelic and progressive rock in to the modern era, dropping the indulgent nature of the genres for forceful, emotive music. Following the now sold-out first box set of Porcupine Tree s Delerium Years , and the near sold-out second box set, Kscope are re-releasing the band s records from the era, including Up The Downstair , as a series of LPs presented in gatefold packaging. This double LP version is pressed on to 180g heavyweight audiophile vinyl and uses real drums (played by Gavin Harrison) in place of the original sampled drums, and features the tracks remastered by Steven Wilson in 2016 with more naturalistic dynamics and EQ – remasters previously only available in The Delerium Years 1991 – 1993 box set. Steven Wilson is currently enjoying global chart success with his fourth solo album Hand. Cannot. Erase. , is promoting his upcoming fifth solo album, and released the anticipated new album from Blackfield, his partnership with Israeli singer Aviv Geffen, in February 2017.
